Jeanie Marie Buss was born in the United States. She is the owner and director of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. A California born Buss has been raised by an affluent family. Jerry Buss was her father. Jerry Buss started out as a realty business tycoon and then later owned the Lakers. The emotional strain she felt was exacerbated as her parents divorced in the year 1972. At 19 years old, she joined the family's business, serving as general manager of the Los Angeles Strings professional tennis team. Later, she founded in the Los Angeles Blades, a professional roller-hockey team. The position she held was the president for Great Western Forum prior to becoming the vice-president of Lakers. Her father passed away in 2013, and the ownership of the Lakers was inherited by Buss as well as her siblings through a family trust that gave each sibling the same vote. She assumed the office as the head of the Los Angeles Lakers. Buss is also the co-owner in Women of Wrestling a pro-wrestling promotion headquartered at Los Angeles.
