Winona-Ryder
Winona Ryder (born Winona Laura Hornowitz) was born in Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for her home town. Michel Horowitz' father was an editor and writer along with Cynthia Palmer and her mother. Ryder's father was from a Jewish family. Ryder believes she is Jewish. Uria is Ryder's younger sister. Jubal, Sunyata and Sunyata are her half-siblings. Ryder and her family relocated to Mendocino County in California, when Ryder was just seven. There was no electricity. Ryder would read extensively due to the lack of television. Ryder took acting classes when Ryder was twelve years old, at the American Conservatory Theatre. Lucas was dismissed in the year 1986, and Ryder who was only 15, landed a role as a leading actress. Ryder suffered bullying in her high school. Ryder hoped her career as an actress would make a difference. It didn't turn out. However, she pushed on with her goal. Her big break came in 1988 with Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued playing characters that made a splash in a variety of films. She was nominated for two Academy Awards one for her performance as a character in The Age of Innocence (1993).
